The catfish is delish! Hush puppies are amazing. Tried the fried and the grilled and the Cajun over various trips and all are great! Be sure to try the corn nuggets!
We've passed this place a few times on the way to work, so today we decided to try it. We weren't disappointed! Fluffy moist catfish with a crisp batter, and the shrimp were the same! Fries were made from real potatoes! Friendly staff as well! We will be back!
If your into fried goodness, you should check this place out. On my visits to Amarillo I always try to stop by. The catfish is pretty darn tasty! The hush puppies are tasty as well. I'm am a big fan of corn nuggets (pretty much deep fried cream corn) and this place has a great portion for a great price! The staff has always been friendly on my visits. I told a coworker about checking out this place when he was on business travel, and he enjoyed it. He has been back several times and pretty much agreed with my opinion of this place. The only reason I give this place a 4 instead of a 5 is the sides. The portions of the sides is very petite, and the taste is just average, nothing to write home about. With that being said I still recommend this place if your in Amarillo I think you should give this place a try!
Pros: Really nice staff and are always checking up on you Good portions on food Prices are more than fair! Actually, they're pretty cheap prices Fried catfish is a must! I ordered the 10-piece and it came with fries and hush puppies. So good! I also ordered the Cajun pot, but wasn't thrilled. The staff, at that time, didn't know how to cook it and willingly admitted it to me. But they still tried. They fried the catfish and then seasoned it. Big no-no in my book, but an A for effort to the staff. I definitely would go back for the fried catfish and maybe try some other fried shrimps or something. It's pretty sketchy, though, and a little hard to find. If you're not on the look out for it, you could easily miss it!
